Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer recognized for his distinctive blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European party and concert scenes. Sunshine's the name of Denise White. Although she's located in Atlanta however, her ancestors are from Chester Pennsylvania. There she initially began her journey as a musician by playing and singing in the church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in the city's R&B scene. Her voice has also been a part of voices in The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she was commissioned as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the leader of the choral group for this stage show. Sunshine gained national recognition in her four performances in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
